Beach House Backyard Makeover with Road Side Finds

Its seems to be that cane furniture is making a come back.
I see it everywhere painted in fun colours
and it even looks great painted white.

Over the last council throw out
I started a little collection of
"Road Side Finds" for the Beach house.

I collected 5 very different pieces in total.
$0
Amazingly none of them needed repair,
just a little bit of white outdoor paint!
Before and After
What a difference a bit of paint can make.

It took some time to paint them all,
but getting a resort feel for next to nothing,
 made it all worth it.

My Husband and I built this little table to go over the fire pit.
We made it out of an old bed frame we weren't using.
It is perfect for the space and cost
$0.

 We created a wonderful space
to entertain friends at the Beach House
for next to nothing!
Beach House
 Backyard
 Oasis
is now complete.

It is time to sit back and enjoy Summer.

Yellow Treasure Hunt…Before and After $0

Yellow
seems to be all over the place
 for summer.
But this year it seems they are pushing
bigger ticket items like yellow lamps or this sink below?
I don't want to commit to that!
I love yellow too,
but instead I went on a
yellow treasure hunt around my house
to see what I could find that would satisfy my craving for bright yellow this summer.
Here are some of the things I found
so far….  $0

The majority of the items I found
were from my Kitchen
and my Study.
I focused my attention on these two areas
and added little touches of yellow.

I created a bright and inviting
 Tea and Coffee station
for the corner of my Kitchen.
Last year I made this chair for my Son's room,
but I used it to inspire
a makeover
for my Study.
Here is my Study

 BEFORE:
And my Study

AFTER: $0
I found simple things from around the house,
like these badges I made into magnets,
and a bunch of yellow pens and pencils.

Zach's Chair looks great in the Study now.
 It was not drastic,
but it was free
and can be changed again easily.
This can be done with any colour for any season.
The best part is it cost me nothing to do!!
$0
I also painted this frame yellow
and added a pineapple print I found online.
This can now go in the Study
to satisfy my pineapple crush too.

Mini Bead Weaving

A creative friend reminded me about the little mini loom she used to make jewellery on.
I was inspired and went home to give it a go myself.
I dug up some beads I had from way way back.

I also found a necklace that I would never wear again and took some pretty turquoise beads from that.

I made a tiny loom from a piece of wood and little nails.

I took some design inspiration from this candle I just bought while in the USA.
I thought the Aztec design was just what I needed.

I beaded each row onto the loom.
Then the difficult part was weaving each and every thread back into the woven piece so it wouldn't come apart.
I must admit that part took forever!

I bought a silver chain from the bead shop and here is the finished product.

I love it!
Something a bit different and gets lots of compliments when I wear it.
Too fun!

Now to make another....

Beach House Summer Spruce Up

Beach House Summer Spruce Up

Tassels are everywhere at the moment.

I went to my favourite fabric store in Melbourne
and saw these lovely liberty fabric tassels.

I just had to make my own little version!

The kids helped me tear up the fabric.
So we bundled it up and headed down to the Beach House

My daughter helped me sort them all out

We wanted a pop of colour in there
to match the succulent flowers that are out at the moment.
I love these!
They last in little vases for a really long time
and are so vibrant and bright.
I picked these ones from our nature strip.

So fresh and fun in an all white room!

The perfect spruce up for this summer.
