Copper Leaf Vase

I recently came across some copper leaf at a craft store.

I have always wanted a good excuse to try my hand a metal leaf,

 but never had a project in mind,

 until now.

I saw the above metallic vases at Country Road this year.

By the time I went to buy one they were all sold out,

so I thought... why not try and make my own?

 I found this vase at an Opp shop for $1.

It was the perfect size and shape I wanted for my metal leaf experiment.

I used a soft make-up brush,

 some cotton gloves and some spray adhesive I already had.

For my first time, I am pretty impressed.

It is by no means perfect, but I love how it turned out.

 Now, to just figure out where to put it.

Retro Telephone Stand Refurbished! Love it!!

I have been meaning to use this coffee sack for something...

I found this retro telephone book stand at an Op shop.
I thought....how easy would this be to revamp?

A quick sand down and spray paint black.  

Then to recover the seat.... an old coffee sack seamed perfect.

Yep ...perfect for my front Hallway!!!

Perfect spot for the kids to get their shoes on in the morning!!

Revamp a Lamp

A client had this quite unique looking retro lamp, 

but she really liked the dual wooden and ceramic base.

Instead of painting it.....

A Funky New Lamp Shade does the trick

I covered the lamp shade with some quality black fabric....

and the outcome,

she was really pleased with.

"Baby to Boy" Room Makeover

Before
The room was full of Teddy Bears and toys from when Scott was a baby.

After
The theme revolved around
 travel and transportation

         The Brief:  

          

          To take Scott's room

           from a

             BABY's Room

                to a real 

              BOY's Room.

Before
A cluttered dresser top
and Teddy Bear art.

Woody and Buzz had to stay
They are now on the top shelf in the corner.

After
We installed red shelves to display
some of Scott's lovely toys.

Staging to accent
colours and shapes
can have a really
impressive impact.

I met with Dana weeks prior to brainstorm about
 what art work she wanted
 and what she could make.
We came up with some ideas,
 and she made
 4 of the 5 pieces of art in the above photo.

She also made all the art below.

So simple,
Scott's toy plane is now mounted over a map of where they once visited
and framed in a box frame.
Perfectly matching the traveling theme.

Pinterest was very handy with ideas.
How cute is this?

Dana also made this lovely canvas.
She covered it with fabric,
and used a sticker and made his name
out of the remaining bits.

She had these awesome vintage style crates,
and we needed a shelf solution,
So we attached them to the wall
and created an art collage around them.

Scott is thrilled with his room makeover.

Pink Wire Lamp Frame

I found this old wire lampshade and removed all the fabric. 

I spray painted it Pink.

 I made my own light fitting.... since they don't sell them like this.

and...

Voila!!

Fabric Covered Felt Tip Pens

How cute would this be for a Teacher's Gift?

I needed to find another use for this ever so pretty Fabric Tape I can't stop making.

Lay the tape down on the back side of the fabric.
It took 3 pieces of tape to cover these particular pens.

* Tip - Cut perfectly square to be sure they will look nice.

Refurbished Rocking Chair

Nice one!!!
I bought this rocking chair for my Nursery for $20 from an Opp Shop.  I recovered it with lovely Irish Linen for about $20.
Used it for about 3 years
then....
Just sold this on Ebay for $150!

Ebay cracks me up.  I have never bought anything off it by auction before, because I always get outbid.

However, I have sold about 4 things on Ebay....

and somehow manage to get about 3 to 5 times more for the item than I ever would have expected?????

I don't get it?

Perhaps I need to look into this more.
