The seat of the chair was beyond repair 

so I made a new seat and covered it with a piece of scrap leather I had.

Wooden Palette into Kids Jet Plane

This past weekend we had a wooden palette we needed to get rid of. Zach had the idea to build a plane out of it, so we thought we would give it a go.

We had to design it with two seats....of course.

 Here is Zach sitting proudly on the back seat.

 ...then doing a bit of sanding.

Kayla thought it was the "most fun ever" to paint it grey. 

 We found some cool stickers and electrical tape to decorate with.

We even made little detachable rockets.....

it is all in the detail  ;-)

Here Zach is doing a final check over to see if we need any more stripes.  

It took a lot of convincing that "less is more"!!

The kids were trilled with the end product and they had a blast creating it.
It was so fun.

Vintage Metal Crates....what a find

My friend Kelly dragged me to her favourite Opp shop this morning after coffee. 

As we pulled up, I had a gut feeling I was going to find something that I have been looking for.  

Guess what I found?

Yep...a huge vintage metal crate....exactly like I wanted.  What luck!

It completes the look I wanted on that side of the room.

Now I just need to figure out what to keep in it.

Retro Telephone Stand Refurbished! Love it!!

I have been meaning to use this coffee sack for something...

I found this retro telephone book stand at an Op shop.
I thought....how easy would this be to revamp?

A quick sand down and spray paint black.  

Then to recover the seat.... an old coffee sack seamed perfect.

Yep ...perfect for my front Hallway!!!

Perfect spot for the kids to get their shoes on in the morning!!

Recently I saw on Pinterest a post that said

 "Do what you Love"

 And I thought yep...perfect....I can do that.  I love having people over to entertain, I love showing people how to do things, I love inspiring them to do it on their own...and then being inspired back by them.  I love a new challenge of a DIY project.  So what better way to do what I love.... than to host a DIY Party!

Screen printing is a project I have been wanting to try for a long time, but it just seemed too expense to even try.  Then I discovered on Pinterest that it was possible to make your own screens as well as fabric paint.  I gave this a try and it worked really well.

Then I met Eleanor from
KICK AND SCREEN

at a recent design show.  

I visited her little studio and she helped me design this Melbourne screen.

I love it!!

 I see hints of neon everywhere and it makes me so happy to see something so fresh and different. Who knew these colours could escape the 80’s and actually look modern again?! I think less is more with these bold colours, so you all you need is a little dash here and there.

  I gave a short demo on the night, and then helped everyone get started.   Because it wasn't a professional class, but a party, everyone was really relaxed and just got stuck into it.  The girls all helped each other out as the night went on which was fantastic!!  We were all inspired by each other and also enjoyed the yummy food and wine that was brought by everyone.

At the end of the night we painted wooden spoons to go along with our
new neon tea towels.

The yellow Chevron pattern was
very popular on the tea towels.

It was really fun to see how creative everyone was and to see all the lovely designs the girls came up with.

 My bathroom became a mini studio for screen printing.

Physio Open for Business, Hawthorn

These past few weeks I have been a busy little bee...

 running around like mad getting everything 

ready for the opening of a new Physiotherapy clinic in Hawthorn.

 I have been involved in every aspect of this clinic from the beginning.  I was asked to redo the floor plan to accommodate more consulting rooms in the future, as well as how to incorporate a small staff room.  I was also asked for my advice with the layout and organisation of the clinic. 

 It has been really fun for me, to be able to use the same skills I use for "Style My Home" and utilise them in a more corporate, business setting.

Back in Motion Hawthorn is now open for business and I am more than happy with the results.
